Welcome to Garrett House – Aldeburgh

Garrett House is a home of distinction providing quality 24-hour care, with emphasis on independence, dignity and privacy for our elderly residents. We are proud of our reputation of providing excellent care in a homely, warm, caring atmosphere on the Suffolk coast.

We are registered for 45 residents and provide long-term/ permanent residency, interim care from hospital prior to going home and respite / holiday care, along with day care services for non-residents.

We are committed to providing a high standard of care which embraces our values and principles of a person-centred framework and a ‘home for life”.

A Residential Care Home with a difference

Providing highest standards of care in a relaxed, comfortable environment. All provision tailored to personal requirements.

Garrett House is a residential home where residents receive as little or as much help and support as they require. Nursing care is provided by District Nurses and the Primary Health Team.

We offer residents three lounges, dining room and a coffee bar where they can chat, relax and take in the beautiful gardens.

Our work at Garrett House ensures that our residents have somewhere safe to go about their day, but also offers a peaceful and relaxed environment and peace of mind.

Services and Facilities

Our residents enjoy nutritious meals tailored to their requirements, regular activities and 24/7 care.

The Coach House

The Coach House is a self contained luxury residence within the grounds of Garrett House – designed for an independent resident or couple to enjoy whilst still being able to take advantages of all the services we offer at Garrett House.

The Gardens

Our gardens offer a great amount of discover and variety. Its a really peaceful environment and helps our residents feel relaxed as they go about their day

Visit Us

Visiting by car, the house can be found quite easily as we’re just off the main A1094 coming into Aldeburgh, reached from the A12 London / Lowestoft road.

Once in Aldeburgh go straight across the roundabout at The Railyway public house and take the first turning on your right; Park Road. We’re the fifth house along on your left, there’s a large sign at the entrance and ample on-site parking.

The Martello Towers

An early 19th century build that was one of 19 to be built in Suffolk, but one of very few to remain here today. The Martello towers are part of our collective heritage, they are monuments to our shared history that have become one with Suffolk’s beautiful coastline.

The Meare, Thorpeness

A beautiful boating lake within the heart of Suffolk, the meare offers a great opportunity to have an unwind on the lake, or entertainment for the kids for the day.

The lake is open from Spring to Summer and on some Autumn weekends weather dependent.
